Plakias Area

The settlement was built in the beginning of the 20th century by fishermen from Sellia who stayed in this area.

In the first census there were only 6 residents.
Nowadays more than 200 permanent residents live in Plakias. In summer thousands of tourists live in Plakias.

In Plakias you will find pharmacies, big supermarkets, a doctor, every kind of tourist business.
You can enjoy walking the pleasant routes, cycling, riding, diving, climbing and trying every kind of water sports.

You can get to Plakias either by your own car in half an hour or by public transport from Rethymno in regular bus service.
